LOCATION
This is the Bengtsson family’s most romantic hotel, situated on Storkyrkobrinken in the Old Town only a few steps from the Royal Palace!
ACCOMMODATION
Choose a room named after your favourite flower! A sense of the past can also be experienced in the rooms. For example, you might see a fine old liquor cabinet with a rustic design and containing an antique spirits bottle. All rooms are named after a regional flower, painted on the door by Swedish artist Ingrid Svensson. Every room features a traditional painting from Dalarna over the bed and each is furnished with an antique rustic cupboard.
FACILITIES This charming hotel, named for the famous naval hero Lord Nelson’s beloved mistress, is a museum in itself, a dramatisation of both Swedish and English history. This listed historical building has been around since 1470, at which time it was divided into three separate houses. These were eventually purchased by the merchant Lorens Erdtman, who converted them into a single spacious home for himself.
In 1975 the building was bought by Majlis and Gunnar Bengtsson, who refurbished the property and transformed it into a hotel. At the basement level we have something of a cultural treasure − an old well dating back to the 1300s! It was here that many residents of the Old Town fetched their water in those days. Today the well is used by our guests for taking a cool dip.
