LOCATION
The First Hotel Reisen is a classic Stockholm hotel in the Old Town. The history dates back to the early 1760s, when Fredrik Reiss moved his Coffee-house to Skeppsbron 12 – a popular meeting place for sea captains and tradesmen. During the 19th century the establishment developed into a restaurant and hotel.
ACCOMMODATION
The First Hotel Reisen offers 144 rooms, 7 of them suites. All rooms are well furnished with minibar, hairdryer, trouser press, iron etc. Rooms with private sauna, jacuzzi or balcony are available.
FACILITIES Through a gentle refurbishment, the hotel has managed to update the hotel to the demands of the 21 st century, while preserving the atmosphere of the past.
DINING Food Reisen’s bar and dining overlooking Strömmen, where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea, serves seasonal Swedish contemporary specialities under the management of Stefan Bjur.
Bleakroe, salmon, reindeer, lamb, seasonal mushrooms, berries and vegetables are always included on our menu. At the bar you can enjoy everything from a glass of red wine to our selection of whiskies, cognacs and calvados, perhaps a cigar from our well stocked Humidor.
The banquet room Per Brahe with a beautiful salon en suite, caters for dinner parties in the style of our a la carte restaurant. Per Brahe can seat up to 22 people. Aperitifs, cocktails and coffee can be enjoyed in the salon.
LEISURE
Downstairs, beneath beautiful crossvaults from the 1690´s you will find the sauna and plunge pool. In these vaults, parts of the old city wall are preserved. One part of the sauna and pool can be reserved for private parties up to 12 persons. During the summer you may also rent a bike and explore the city. We can also help to reserve sightseeing-tickets for city trips.
MEETING FACILITIES
Conference:
The steamship Per Brahe, constructed in 1908, ran between Stockholm and Åbo in the 1950’s. The ship used to moor alongside the quay opposite the Hotel Reisen. In 1955 when the steamship was scrapped, the ship dining-room and ladies' parlour was salvaged and turned into a conference room seating up to 22 people. Conferences may be booked Monday-Friday. Banquets and private dinners may be booked by the Primo Ciao-Ciao restaurant. Combine the conference with a tailor-made trip to the archipelago.
