LOCATION
The Rica City Hotel Gamla Stan offers a lot of atmosphere in a historical environment among the narrow streets of the Gamla Stan, with the Royal Palace, Storkyrkan, and the Houses of Parliament all close by. The hotel is unique due to its location in a building from the middle of the 17th century.

ACCOMMODATION
Renovated in 1998 in an 18th century style, the Rica City Hotel Gamla Stan offers 51 rooms, which includes singles, doubles, a mini-suite, and 26 rooms reserved for non-smokers. All rooms feature a toilet and shower/bath, hair dryer, radio, cable TV, telephone, and minibar.

DINING
Begin your day with breakfast in the hotel's breakfast room. For dining options during the day and night, try any of the innumerable restaurants offering Swedish and international cuisine around the hotel.

LEISURE
The majority and best of what Stockholm can offer is within walking distance from the hotel: restaurants, attractions, shops and stores. For example, visit the Stockholm Medieval Museum which is an exciting underground museum that depicts the origins and medieval development of the city. Or take a walk to the Stockholm City Hall where the Nobel Prize festivities take place in the Blue Hall and the Golden Hall. And from the City Hall Tower Museum you have a wonderful view of the whole of the city.

The outdoor attractions, nightlife, restaurants, and major theatres, are all within walking distance of the hotel. In the Gamla Stan you can find the origins of the City of Stockholm with the many alleys and picturesque houses. You will also find the Royal Palace, the Stock Exchange where the Swedish Academy holds its meetings, and Stortorget where the Stockholm bloodbath took place in 1520. At the Palace, which is the official residence of HM the King, you can visit the Ordenssalarna and the Rikssalen where Queen Kristina's silver throne from 1650 stands. The Palace also houses King Gustav III's Antique Museum, which is the oldest official museum in Sweden. In the courtyards you can see the changing of the guard. Riddarhuset and Storkyrkan as well as the Palace Church are also within walking distance of the hotel.

The departure point for the Djurgården boats is not far from the hotel, and the Söder heights are only a few minutes away. Other attractions in Stockholm are the Royal Dramatic Theatre, the Opera, and the Concert Hall.

MEETING FACILITIES
The two conference rooms are located in the 17th century vaults. The larger is suitable for 25 people and the smaller for 8. Modern equipment included, such as OH, flip chart, whiteboard, TV, and video recorder.
