LOCATION
The newly built Rica Hotel Kungsgatan is centrally located at Hötorget, the oldest marketplace in Stockholm. This modern hotel occupies the five upper floors of the PUB department store building originating from1876, and offers first class accommodation and facilities in the heart of Stockholm at favourable prices. The hotel is 40 km from Arlanda Airport (airport coaches stop near the hotel), and 15 km from Bromma Airport. It is also close to the Central Station with local transport just outside the hotel (bus stop and underground station).
ACCOMMODATION
The Hotel Rica City Kungsgatan offers 270 double/single rooms with 550 beds on 5 floors, of which 2 floors have rooms for non-smokers. The rooms are comfortable and feature beautiful and light coloured Scandinavian furnishings made of natural materials. All rooms are also equipped with radio, TV with satellite channels and pay TV, telephone, minibar (fully licensed), coffee/tea percolator, individual climate control for heating/air-conditioning, fully tiled bathroom with shower, towel heater, and hair dryer. There are ironing facilities for clothes on floors 4-7.
FACILITIES
The hotel co-operates with a nearby health centre, Centralbadet, where guests have a discount. Facilities include an indoor pool, steam sauna, massage, jacuzzi, gymnasium, and solarium. As the hotel is in the same building as the PUB department store, there is a choice of 40 shops, from hairdressers to souvenir shops, all under one roof. The very central location of the hotel means that everything Stockholm has to offer is "just outside the door". Guests can also park in a nearby indoor garage.
DINING
A large scandinavian breakfast buffét is served in the breakfast restaurant. The hotel also co-operates with a number of close-by restaurants that offer a wide range of international cuisine.
LEISURE
The City of Stockholm offers many attractions worth seeing. Take a walk around the Gamla Stan and see what Stockholm looked like many years ago. At the same time, visit the Royal Palace, the official residence of the King, and its museum. Or why not combine culture, history, and some entertainment with a whole day at Djurgården. Start with a visit to the Wasa Museum, continue on to the Skansen, and finish up at the Gröna Lund amusement park. A coach or boat trip to the beautiful Drottningholm Palace, where the Swedish Royal Family live. The palace has magnificent rooms from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, large parks, the palace theatre, and the Chinese pavilion. A sightseeing trip by boat in the beautiful Stockholm archipelago with a visit to a genuine inn, or stay in Stockholm and visit some of the museums, for example, the newly inaugurated Modern Museum of Art, the Nordic Museum, the Medieval Museum, and the Strindberg Museum.
MEETING FACILITIES
The hotel can offer conference rooms for 2 to 8 people. A larger conference room for 20 people is also available, but only for afternoon and evening conferences.
